Parents as Partners

As your child's first teacher, Living School endeavours to create and facilitate opportunities for your continued involvement in your child's education. Our Parents as Partners program provides training for parents to support their participation in formal education. This includes classroom support, one on one reading, guest speaker presentations, workshop faciliation and excursion support.

The FUSE Cup

Australia's premier esports competition, The FUSE Cup provides opportunities for interschool connections in an international competition. The FUSE Cup aims to bring gaming into the open, outside of bedrooms and loungerooms, bringing a social component to this solo pursuit. In between rounds of competition, students are exposed to educational materials from Australia's eSafety Commissioner and engage in coversation around online safety. Our 2023 Just Dance Team came second in the Northern Rivers division and one of our dancers, Rose, was the second highest point scoring dancer throughout the competition. We are looing forward to our Mario Kart and Rocket League teams competing later in the year!

Academy of Enterprising Girls

Middle School welcomed faciliatators from Young Change Agents to our SCU campus, leading our female identifying students through a design workshop to tackle financial issues for young people. Using the design thinking process, students engaged in empathy interviews, developed problem statements, created prototypes and pitched their solutions.

United Nations Conference

Three of our students represented Middle School at the United Nations Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction. They participated in the Youth in Spotlight session, speaking with delegates and ministers about their experience in the aftermath of the 2022 Lismore floods. The students also performed their original song, 'Climate Change Your Tune', and spread their message of environmental awareness.
