Dear Families,
Year 6 and Year 7 have been invited to showcase their UN Sustainable Development Goal aligned projects at an event hosted by the United Nations Association of Australia. This event, One Voice, One Humanity: Next Gen, will be held at the Great Hall, UTS, Sydney on the 4th of December.
The event is a TEDx style event with 5-7 minute presentations reflecting the principles of Human Rights. Year 6 will be exhibiting their Lismore city build and Year 7 will be presenting ‘Climate Change Your Tune’ as part of the Youth Expo portion of this event, setting up stalls to showcase these projects. They have been asked to sing this song on stage as part of the evening.
Thanks to the incredible work and support of Oli Costello and Layla Tan, we have secured accommodation for our students for two nights in Sydney. They will be hosted by St Catherine’s, Waverley, an Anglican girls’ school in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney.

Please see the packing list and proposed itinerary for this excursion below. As this is all happening very quickly, there may be changes made that will be communicated with families.
Please complete the permission form as soon as possible so we can confirm final arrangements. This excursion is not a compulsory part of our academic program for this term, but is an incredible opportunity. Please let me know if your child will not be attending. Alternative arrangements will be made for them at school.
This is a well deserved celebration of learning for our Year 6 and Year 7 students who have engaged so enthusiastically with our Project Based Learning curriculum, producing these impactful products. If you have any questions about this, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Emma Wilson

The checklist below is a guide only. It is a good idea for students to pack their own bags so that they can re-pack for the trip home.
As we will only be away for three days, please assist your child in packing minimally and only necessary items.
